The Treatment
The procedure involves several connected procedures to improve the appearance of your neck. Your surgeon starts by performing neck liposuction. Neck liposuction is a safe and very effective procedure that can permanently remove fat from your neck and fat from under your chin. Performing neck liposuction typically takes 30-45 minutes. After removing the fat in your neck, the surgeon then performs the neck lift procedure. To perform the neck lift, a small well-hidden incision under the chin and behind the ear is utilized. This allows the surgeon to tighten the tissue of the neck and the muscles that can sag in the neck. Occasionally, the surgeon will remove some skin from behind your ear that is hidden in your hairline to improve the neck lift. Doing all this allows you to achieve a contoured and rejuvenated neck and jaw line.
In most situations, patients will have a bandage on their neck for 1 week. There is often mild to very minimal pain and discomfort after a neck lift. During the healing time, there may be bruising and minor swelling. Patients often report feeling tightness in their neck for the first few weeks, however, this subsides with time.
Patients can resume normal activities approximately two weeks after their chin fat removal or neck liposuction procedures in Ottawa.
