Who is an ideal candidate for GentleMax Pro laser hair removal?
As laser hair removal devices look for pigment (colour) in the hair, the best candidates have light brown to black hair on the areas they want to be removed. A key benefit of the GentleMax Pro is that it can effectively remove hair on any skin colour, including dark skin. Unfortunately, patients looking to remove grey, white or light-coloured hair are not suitable candidates for laser hair removal.
How do I prepare for a GentleMax Pro laser hair removal treatment?
You must avoid tweezing, waxing, or bleaching the hair for six weeks prior to treatment. Preserving the root and the pigment of the hair is imperative for the success of the laser treatment. Ensure that the skin around the treatment area is smooth by shaving all the hair off on the day of the service.
Is there any downtime for laser hair removal with the Gentlemax Pro?
There is no downtime for laser hair removal using the Gentlemax Pro. You may experience a bit of swelling, mild irritation, or redness around the treated areas but this should dissipate within a few hours following the treatment. The majority of patients are able to engage in their regular activities immediately after the treatment.
How does it feel?
Most patients experience a slight stinging or pinching sensation during their hair removal treatment. The GentleMax Pro laser has a dynamic skin cooling system built into the device in order to reduce any discomfort. Depending on which area will be treated, e.g. Brazilian or underarms, we may apply a numbing cream approximately an hour in advance of the treatment.
How long does a treatment take?
Laser hair removal treatments take between 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area and the number of areas being treated. On average, the actual underarm treatments take about 5 minutes using the GentleMax Pro.
When will I notice results?
Successful treatments depend on various factors including your age, hair type, and the area being treated. Clients typically require four to six treatments to achieve their expected results. On average, about 80 percent hair reduction is achieved after six visits. You may notice significant hair reduction right after your first treatment, and then you’ll experience new regrowth in certain areas. During this stage, another treatment is required.
