What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness and/or blood vessels to be visible on the face. Rosacea tends to flare-up and can show symptoms for days to weeks at a time. Rosacea can often be mistaken when self-diagnosed as acne or other skin problems. Rosacea can affect anyone at any age, but has shown to be most common amongst middle-aged females with lighter skin tones. Despite there being no cure for rosacea, there are many options to help treat and reduce its signs and symptoms.

Rosacea can be diagnosed by our professional team at Ottawa Derm Centre through a physical examination.
